CaO2 =  1.36  x  Hgb  x  SaO2  +  (0.003 x PaO2)

     
Mixed Venous Oxygen Content  (CvO2 Normal = 12 - 17 mL/dL
 
CvO2 =  1.36  x  Hgb  x  SvO2  +  (0.003 x PaO2)
 
where:
  • Hgb is the hemoglobin level in g/dL
  • SaO2 is the percent oxyhemoglobin saturation of arterial blood
  • SvO2 is the percent oxyhemoglobin saturation of mixed venous blood
  • PaO2 is arterial partial pressure of oxygen
