Todd Brennan

Todd V. Brennan, M.D., M.S.

Dr. Todd Brennan completed a master's degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994. He then earned his medical degree from Harvard University's School of Medicine in 1999. As part of his training he spent one year at Massachusetts General Hospital doing research in immunology and molecular biology with Dr. Brian Seed. In 2007, he completed his surgical residency at the University of California, San Francisco. During his residency, he worked in the UCSF transplant laboratory with Dr. Sang-Mo Kang investigating the allospecific T cell response. Dr. Brennan is the recipient of the American College of Surgeons Research Fellowship, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) Roche Laboratories Scientist Scholarship, and the ASTS Novartis Fellowship in Transplantation Award. In addition, the American Transplant Congress awarded him its Young Investigator Award for research into factors affecting early kidney graft function. Dr. Brennan currently does clinical outcome research with Dr. Sandy Feng and is investigating the fetal-maternal immune barrier with Dr. Sang-Mo Kang. He will complete his transplant fellowship with the Division of Transplantation at UCSF in June of 2009.

 
 
Matthew Levine

Matthew H. Levine, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Matthew Levine completed his medical degree and earned a Ph.D. in immunobiology from the Yale University School of Medicine in 2001. He then went on to complete a general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2006. Dr. Levine received the Medical Scientist Training Program Fellowship through the National Institutes of Health for M.D., Ph.D. training in 1994. As a graduate student, he studied the selection of B cells in transgenic murine systems in the Yale immunobiology laboratory with Dr. Charles Janeway, Jr. Dr. Levine is currently serving as a clinical transplant fellow at UCSF. In addition to his clinical service, he participates in the education of surgical house staff and medical students and is an active member of the transplant research laboratory. Dr. Levine will complete his transplant fellowship with the Division of Transplantation at UCSF in December 2008.

 
 
Kayvan Roayaie

Bruce Gelb, M.D.

Dr. Bruce Gelb received his B.S. degree in Biochemistry from UCLA in 1996.  He then earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in May 2003.   He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha in 2002.  Dr. Gelb completed his residency in General Surgery at New York University School of Medicine between 2003 and June 2008.
